Yeah, yeah, it’s been a week since I put out a new tune for Today’s Spin. In my defense, it got cold, and I got very occupied with laying under a mound of blankets to be bothered with anything. It could also be because I often ignore my own advice, which told me to plan out the month a lot earlier than November 1st. Better late than never, eh?

Radio Hitch

Also, I decided to change the format of this part of the blog, which has slowed me down a bit. Today’s Spin is now going to be known as Radio Hitch! It’s gonna take me a little time to move stuff around, so stay tuned. Here’s the basic premise: I’ll pick a theme for the month, and spin one tune per day based on the theme. This month, I’ve picked a bunch of tunes about autumn, food, and giving thanks.

Today’s Spin | The Neighbourhood – Sweater Weather

November is when you can no longer deny that winter is coming – the weather becomes gray and chilly, the leaves start to fall, and daylight is hard to come by. Time to pull out a sweater (and a scarf & jacket for those in the upper Midwest) and take a walk on the beach while you still can.

“Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood captures this feeling perfectly. These guys formed in Southern California in 2011, and this song was the lead single from their debut album, I Love You. “Sweater Weather” quickly became a hit, jumping to the top of Billboard Alternative Songs Chart in June 2013.

I like the spare production and the lyrics, and it always puts me in the mood for fall weather. What better way to kick off this month’s theme? Enjoy!

I’ll keep a tally of the month’s songs listed here, so you can quickly see what’s been spinning around here besides my brain!
