I may have mentioned that I make a lot of playlists. In fact, sometimes I create one and completely forget about it. Today I was digging around on my computer and came across a list titled Social Climber. So I gave it a listen to see what the heck I did, and this tune by TLC was the second on the list. I loved these ladies, even for all their drama, and this song, to me, is their crowning achievement.
No Scrubs came out in 1999, and was a huge hit for TLC. It had an awesome beat, fun lyrics and lots of attitude. It was incredibly refreshing to hear the old “gold digger” chestnut thrown back on the fellas, and it remains a funky delight.
