I was trying to come up with a new playlist for Valentine’s Day, but it’s been kind of a crazy couple of weeks, and I haven’t had the time or the mental energy. So, please enjoy my favorite playlist about love from the vault!
It’s complicated
A Valentine’s playlist seems so simple really. Christ, half of popular music is devoted to love – chasing love, finding love, losing love. But the gooey, let’s-stare-at-each-other-for-eternity type of tune just sets my teeth on edge. Because relationships aren’t really like that; they’re messy, thrilling, frustrating, and well, complicated. Sometimes you just want to burn your beloved in his bed, and vice versa. Other times, you can hardly stand being apart from your sweetie for even a second. And there are times when things go completely sideways and someone leaves. It’s ok. That’s what it’s all about. Trust me, If it were all hearts and flowers and sugar-coated rainbows, you’d do something to stir it up, because a steady diet of that shit is deadly dull.
So I dug deep into the Sewer of Sound
Happy Valentine’s Day!
